Nosy be Island, located in the Northwest of Madagascar is the starting point of our journeys toward the Main Land.
Our travel universe covers 250 km of coast between Nosy Be and Moramba Bay. The weather is globally nice all year round (340 days sunshine). The temperature gap between our summer and our winter is very little. Most of the time, the rain “chooses” to fall at night while we enjoy being under the tent…
– Water temperature: 75, 2 °F in the middle of winter (July / August)
– Water temperature: 84, 2°F in the middle of summer (November / December)
– Air temperature: 78, 8°F in the middle of winter (July / August)
– Air temperature: 89, 6 ° in the middle of summer (November / December)
The vegetation is lush in the northern part (our region first 90 miles). It becomes a bit more arid in the south (Moramba Bay and surroundings), where an amazing quantity of fabulous baobabs, like the famous pachypodium can be seen; as well as the terrestrial and marine tsingy
Water is abundant everywhere; in the form of rain, torrent waterfalls, or quiet source.
Regarding winds, the region between Nosy Be and Radamas archipelago is the only Indian Ocean area where the Trade Wind is not blowing. We are really in a specific region sculpted by its characteristics, ideal for a dream sailing as the wind is moderate all year round.
